NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Officials in North Charleston are announcing plans to raise awareness about children's exposure to domestic violence.
Solicitor Scarlett Wilson and Lowcountry Children's Center executive director Elizabeth Ralston are at North Charleston City Hall on Tuesday to announce a partnership to improve community response to children's exposure to violence in their homes.
As many as 15 million children witness domestic violence each year.
Wilson says the new partnership is developing guidelines and recommendations on how best to deal with the issue.
