Victim identified in fatal Colony Apartment shooting

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Officials have released the name of the victim killed in Wednesday night's shooting at the Colony Apartments.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 20-year-old Terrance McNair-Bailey died from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Columbia Police responded to Palmetto Health Richland at approximately 9:45 p.m. Wednesday after a McNair-Bailey entered the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the neck.  McNair-Bailey was pronounced dead a short time later.

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott is asking for the community’s assistance looking for a suspect involved in the Bailey Street murder.

Columbia Investigators have determined that the shooting took place outside in a parking lot in front of building 1500 at the Colony Apartments.

Chief Scott asks that anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
