Surveillance at Waffle House

RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Deputies say they've arrested two suspects involved in a Wednesday morning shooting on Farrow Rd.
Richland County officials announced the arrests of 36-year-old Adrian Lawrence and 35-year-old Michael Gilbert Thursday evening.
Lawrence and Gilbert are accused of shooting 28-year-old Benjamin Moultrie, Jr. in the parking lot of the Waffle House just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, then assaulting him.
Moultrie was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
A deputy in the area heard gunshots being fired and was able to observe part of the incident, which helped their investigation.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says the shooting was not a random crime and stemmed from a previous fight that happened at LaRoyce, a nearby nightclub.
"You can't solve problems with a gun and we see that with a lot of people who think because they've got a gun, they can solve the problem. All that does is make it worse," Lott explained.
The investigation continues and officials are still looking for witnesses to the shooting.
