Health rankings by county

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- New data released Wednesday ranks South Carolina's healthiest counties.
The study conducted by the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation puts Beaufort County at the top of the list. Lee County is reported as the least healthiest county in the state.

The report judged overall health based on the death rate under age 75, percentage of people who report being in fair or poor health, number of days people report being sick and the rate of low birth weight in infants. Unemployment, child poverty and single-parent households also plays a role.
