COLUMBIA (WACH, AP) -- South Carolina's exports are rising faster than the national rate.
The Palmetto State's value of goods exported climbed over 23 percent in 2010 over the previous year. The national rate grew by just over 16 percent.
Gov. Nikki Haley, the state Commerce Department and the State Ports Authority announced Wednesday the state sold $20 billion worth of goods in 192 nations around the world.
The top three exports in terms of value were vehicles, machinery and rubber.
Canada surpassed Germany as the state's largest export market. More than $3 billion worth of goods were exported to Canada while Germany bought just under $3 billion worth of South Carolina goods.
