COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Gov. Nikki Haley officially met with Cabinet members for the first time Monday.

Agencies reported their biggest problems and successes so far.

Haley noted her main priority is bringing down the unemployment rate.

South Carolina's jobless rate is 10.2 percent.  That's a drop from February's report.

Haley says she's confident in the team but will keep a close eye on each agency's budget quarterly and not just at the end of the year.

"It's a tough budget year and I appreciate the sacrifices that you're making," Haley said to her Cabinet Monday.  "And I appreciate the fact that your doing more with less, but we don't want to reduce the quality of what we offer.  I will tell you that quality is key in everything that we do."

One positive note comes out of the Department of Juvenile Justice.  It's reporting the lowest number of inmates in the agency's history.
