LEXINGTON (WACH) -- Lexington One school district leader’s open doors to a new elementary school.

Students and several proud parents gathered Sunday to celebrate the new location of Rocky Creek Elementary along Calks Ferry Road in Lexington.

It cost the district $13.2 million dollars.

The schools principal says the school has a silver certification indicating that the new building is environmentally friendly.

The school now sits on 23 acres of land that the district purchased from Rocky Creek Cattle Farm.
