COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Businesses across the Midlands helped the Ronald McDonald House with its annual Spring Cleaning Friday.

Volunteers cleared the grounds, cleaned the carpets and helped out around the facility.

Congressman Joe Wilson was also on hand to help out.

Volunteers say it's worth their time to help out such a special organization.

"When you meet the people who work here and see the need that is here, it just makes it worthwhile," says Paul Romanstine of Midlands Landscape.

For years, the Ronald McDonald House has provided a place to stay for families who have loved ones in the hospital.
