LEXINGTON COUNTY (WACH) -- A Gaston man wanted for kidnapping his estranged girlfriend at gunpoint turned himself in Sunday morning.

Lexington County sheriff’s deputies say 40-year-old Melvin Burgess went to a home on Mac Circle near Lexington Friday and kidnapped 24-year-old Terri Lou Boltin.

Detectives learned from the Montgomery Police Department in Alabama that Boltin received treatment for injuries at an area hospital Saturday morning.

Officers are helping relatives of Boltin make arrangements for her to return to Lexington County.

Burgess faces several charges in addition to kidnapping, including first-degree burglary and first-degree assault.

He is currently lodged at the Lexington County Detention Center after being denied bond Monday afternoon.
