FAIRFIELD COUNTY (WACH) -- Health officials say a sheen floating downstream on the Broad River isn't a threat but they are keeping an eye on it.

The Department of Health and Environmental Control says they're investigating the potential petroleum sheen.

The sheen was spotted upstream from Jenkinsville where it was has moved down to the Columbia Canal.

Officials say they don't know where the sheen came from but whatever the source is doesn't appear to be leaking any more.

No protective action has been taken or suggested at this time.

If you have pictures of the sheen send them to mojo@wach.com.
