COLUMBIA (WACH)--A Lexington High School graduate has died while serving in Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said 19-year-old Pfc. Kalin C. Johnson died March 8 in Kandahar province of injuries suffered in a non-combat accident.

Johnson was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.

The Department of Defense has not released any further details about Johnson's death.
