DENTSVILLE (WACH) -- The suspect who was shot after police say he fled a traffic stop and pulled a gun on a deputy is due in court Monday.
Antonio Davis faces multiple charges and will appear in front of a bond court judge at 10 a.m. That date was originally set for Friday at 2 p.m. but was bumped to early next week.
Davis, 20, is accused of running from police Thursday when the car he was in with his father was pulled over in a routine traffic stop on Shakespeare Road in northeast Richland County.
Deputies say a female deputy chased after Davis when he pulled out a gun. The deputy pulled her gun and fired at Davis, hitting him in the leg. The officer will return to work immediately.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says Davis was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The father says he doesn't know why his son ran from officials. Davis has a lengthy criminal record that dates back several years.
The State Law Enforcement Division continues its investigation.
