COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Starting Monday Bower Parkway will closed from the entrance of Target to PetSmart.

Construction is set to begin March 1st.

The project will include removing and replacing the road surface and base material as well as placing underlayment drain pipes.

Public works crews posted signs along Bower Parkway last week making it clear that during construction, shoppers will be able to get in and out of the stores along the strip.  Officials are still encouraging customers to shop while the construction takes place.

No word yet on when construction will be complete.

For more information contact the City of Columbia Public Works at 803-545-3790.
