BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) -- Organizers of a film festival in Beaufort say they feel it's harder and harder to lure filmmakers to South Carolina when other states have better incentives.

The Beaufort Gazette reports that the Beaufort International Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday.

Executive director Ron Tucker says South Carolina's incentives don't compare to other states like Georgia, Michigan and Louisiana.

South Carolina's film incentive program provides cash rebates for productions that film and spend at least $1 million in the state. Georgia gives a flat tax credit of 20 percent with a minimum $500,000 investment, plus an additional 10 percent for including a Georgia logo in the finished product.
