HARTSVILLE (WACH, WPDE) -- Smoke continues to billow out of a Pee Dee fertilizer plant as a fire rages on in Hartsville.

Fire officials say crews from five counties helped battle the blaze through the night at the Agrium Rainbow plant, which is now destroyed.

Seven people were inside when the fire broke in the break room out around 7 p.m. Monday, but no injuries have been reported.

The chemicals at the plant were a nitrogen based fertilizer, sulfur, and a phosphate based fertilizer. The Environmental Protection Agency says it hasn't detected any hazardous chemicals in the smoke. It will continue to monitor the air situation, possible contaminants and nearby lakes.

An emergency shelter was set up by the American Red Cross and an evacuation in the area has been lifted.

The fire is expected to burn for the next few days.
