COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Gov. Nikki Haley's choice to lead South Carolina's juvenile justice agency is facing an interview from a legislative panel.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to screen nominee Margaret Barber on Tuesday. Barber is currently chief of staff to agency director Bill Byars.
Haley asked Byars to leave the Department of Juvenile Justice to take the helm of the Corrections Department.
Byars received unanimous support last Thursday by a Senate committee. The full Senate is expected to vote on his confirmation this week.
The Senate has already confirmed Haley's picks to lead the state's commerce, labor, health, revenue and insurance agencies.
