Local retailers say the Super Bowl is great for business this week as people upgrade electronics prior to the game.

COLUMBIA (WACH) - A lot of football fans are looking to upgrade their entertainment systems before Sunday's Super Bowl game, and that's great news for local retailers still struggling in a down economy.
Many customers on hand at the Best Buy on Two Notch Road Friday afternoon were looking to buy a new TV, speakers and home entertainment accessories. Store manager Altroy Bodrick says sales are up because the economy is improving and people are spending their tax refund money.
"We see customers come in all the time saying I want to get a bigger TV," said Bodrick. " The second TV is kind of the deal now; everyone is getting that second big TV for their living room."
Sales of 3D TVs are also on the rise this year, but they're still a small percentage of the overall market.
"Plasma, or LCD, or flat screen, it really doesn't matter. Right now flat screens are big," says Bodrick. "Right now when it comes to TVs, people want big, big is what's in."
Bodrick says the price of these TVs have come down over the past couple years.
