CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Officials in Charleston are dedicating one of the first projects in South Carolina paid for through the 2009 stimulus act that pumped billions into the economy.
The $5.75 million Arthur Christopher Community Center is being dedicated on Wednesday by Mayor Joe Riley and other city officials.
The building is the first project in Charleston constructed with recovery money. The 24,000-square foot building to be used for recreational programs was designed to be energy efficient.
