COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Columbia gas prices have risen almost a nickel in the past week.
The average price per gallon was reported at $2.93 Sunday, which is up 0.4 cents from last week.
According to gasoline price website ColumbiaGasPrices.com, yesterday's prices are 39.9 cents higher than last year and 8.2 cents higher than one month ago.
The latest Midlands average compares with the national average that has increased 1.3 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.09 per gallon.
The national average has increased 8.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 39.3 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
South Carolina currently ranks sixth in the nation for the lowest gas averages. Greenville and Spartanburg hold down spots in the top 10 cities across the U.S. with the least inexpensive gas.
