COLUMBIA (WACH) -- For restaurants the weeks after the holidays can be lean times but not this week restaurants and diners both come out on top during restaurant week.
"It's a very good thing it was successful last year and after the first two days this year we think it's going to be very successful this year," says Chef Mike Davis of Terra in West Columbia.
All week long diners we be taking advantage of the great meals and deals.
Davis says restaurant week is a great opportunity to highlight his restaurant to many new faces.
"Hopefully it's a boom for business but the main thing is just getting our name out there to people who might not know us or people who have been wanting to try it. It gives them an incentive to do it," adds Chef Davis
Just over the bridge Pearlz in the Vista is slicing and dicing in preparations for a busy week. General Manger Mike Evans says this week is a chance to showcase what they can do.
"If you can make an event out of restaurant week and go to 2 or 3 different places on 2 or 3 different nights we look forward to that, getting the customer in here that doesn't necessarily come out all that often," adds Evans.
Many other restaurants are participating in restaurant week some others in the Vista are Blue Marlin, Wild Wing, Gervais and Vine and Liberty tap room and grill.
Evans also adds "it's good because it revitalizes just for that 8 day span where people can say I've never been there and get a great deal".
Over at Terra Chef Davis says" they've seen an influx of business on Friday and Saturday and they've already got a decent amount of reservations for Tuesday night, Davis adds he hopes it carries on through out the week.
