COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- An auction site for surplus government items may have a pretty good deal this week on Christmas decorations from a South Carolina city.
The State of Columbia reports 104 giant snowflakes and 19 huge poinsettias are up for bid as a set at www.govdeals.com.
The decorations were used for 15 years by Greenwood, but city manager Charlie Barrineau say they were replaced by a Toyland-themed display this year as the city begins to build a stable of decorations that use more efficient LED lights.
The top bid was $180 as of Sunday, with the auction ending Tuesday afternoon.
