WEST COLUMBIA (WACH) - A local salon owner taking time out of her day to help a good cause.

Denise Williams, owner of D.W. Salon in West Columbia held a gift drive to Benefit Sistercare.  Sistercare serves battered women in its three emergency shelters.

"I think there is a need for help for anybody in any capacity right now," says Williams.  This the first year she's held a gift drive.  "With the economic setbacks and everything, people need help one way or another."

The salon is accepting donations until Christmas.  It's located on Highway 378, directly across from the Food Lion near Lexington Medical Center.
