ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- Rock Hill police say an officer shot and killed two pit bulls after one of them bit his partner.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported that two officers were trying to catch two loose pit bulls without collars Wednesday evening when one bit an officer's left arm.

A report says both dogs then ran toward the other officer, who shot them.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the dogs' owner for having loose vicious dogs.
