COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Snow, sleet and freezing rain are anticipated for part of South Carolina, creating the possibility of dangerous travel conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Upstate for a threat of snow, sleet and freezing rain through Thursday morning.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
Forecasters say precipitation will begin from the southwest as a mixture of snow and sleet before changing over to freezing rain overnight and turning to rain later Thursday morning.
The weather service says a dusting of snow and sleet is possible with a light glaze of freezing rain developing on top by the morning.
