COLUMBIA (WACH) -- If there is any disappointment left over from the Gamecocks' loss in the SEC Championship Game, it's not discouraging fans from buying bowl tickets.
At a press conference Friday, bowl officials say only 1,500 tickets remain at the USC ticket office and there are just 50 available from Chick-Fil-A.
According to the website StubHub.com, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl ranks as one of the top five selling bowl games over the past three days.
South Carolina will face Florida State on New Year's Eve in the bowl game. The Seminoles and Gamecocks are meeting for the first time since 1991.
"Because it's in the Georgia Dome, it's in close proximity to both teams, so we're definitely seeing huge traveling fan bases on both sides," says Joellen Ferrer of StubHub. "Interesting, actually the majority of buyers that we've seen buying tickets on Stub Hub are from South Carolina and they actually outnumbered Florida buyers 2-1."
You can count Paula Harrell of Richland County among the potential buyers. "After going down there for the SEC Championship game, what a great atmosphere, and there will be more Gamecock fans than the visiting team I believe. I just want to be there to watch us finish off the season really strong."
Ferrer says no matter where you buy your tickets be wary of scams. "You want to make sure you're buying from a legitimate source that has a reputation, offers a guarantee, as well as a customer service number."
Stubhub allows customers to buy tickets on the day of the game and pick them up at the will call window.
Columbia area Chick-Fil-A restaurants are also hosting bowl game ticket giveaways.
You can register at participating stores until December 18.
Head Coach Steve Spurrier told the media Friday that the team will start bowl practice Thursday.
