COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is attending his final Christmas open house at the Governor's Mansion.

Sanford spokesman Ben Fox says the celebration includes decorations by the Columbia Garden Club. Chef Geoffrey Sandifer has constructed a gingerbread house that depicts the newly renovated Trinity Episcopal Cathedral located in downtown Columbia.

Music is being provided by the Carillon Carolers. The Lace House has been decorated by the members of the Mansion Commission and Foundation.

Fox says the event being hosted by the outgoing governor is free and open to the public and is slated to last from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sanford was leaving office in January after serving his two-term limit.
