COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A University of South Carolina adviser is introducing some of the school's international students to the American tradition of Thanksgiving.

The school says international student adviser Travis Weatherford is cooking a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday at Immaculate Consumption in Columbia.

The annual event is for all international university students who are unable to travel home during the holiday.

The university says Weatherford and his family started the new tradition three years ago. Now, several faculty and staff members join him in cooking for more than 40 students.
