COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Thirty-one non-profits across the Midlands and the Pee Dee are getting a nearly $200,000 boost from BI-LO Charities.

Officials say funds from the 27th Annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament  are going a long way.

Checks were handed out Monday morning to organizations that deal with children's needs, education, or hunger relief.

Officials from the popular non-profit Boys and Girls Club is very grateful to get some help.

"We serve a lot of kids throughout our entire community, but serving kids with adequate care is not good enough," says Carter Clark CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands.  "Serving kids with life changing and life enhancing experiences is what we're all about."

BI-LO Charities has raised more than $53 million for non-profits across the Southeast since it started in 1984.
