WEST COLUMBIA (WACH) - Last April we told you about Marie Mullender and her company the Mail Room.  The post office in Cayce ended her company's contract and that nearly put her out of business.  Mullender moved to a new location in West Columbia, and since then business is booming.

"The post office had a lot of issues, they decided they no longer needed us at Parkland Plaza," says Mullender.  "We decided we have to do something because will still have customers."

Mullender says her business offers shipping services through FedEx, UPS and the US Postal Service.  She's also sells stamps, money orders and pre-paid cell phones.

Business has picked up since the move, but Mullender is still worried about double digit unemployment in the state.  "I don't think it's going to affect us one way or another.  I think we are going to survive because we offer the services that people need."

Mullender has three workers and she may add two more if things look up, but she says her company is not out of the woods yet.

"You know the bills still have to be paid, and we still have to pay rent and it's difficult but we're going to make it."
