MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP, WPDE) -- Prosecutors have dropped charges against a man who had been charged with an attempted kidnapping in Myrtle Beach.
Multiple media outlets reported that prosecutors dropped the attempted kidnapping charge against 37-year-old Timothy Shaun Taylor of McClellanville.
Taylor had been arrested in a July attempt to kidnap a Tennessee woman in the same area where a New York teen disappeared in April 2009.
Police say Taylor has been questioned about the disappearance of missing spring-breaker Brittanee Drexel.
Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes says investigators have determined there was no link between the July attempt and the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel in the spring.
Dawn Drexel says she's not really surprised there was no connection between her daughter's disappearance and the July case.
Investigators determined Taylor was not where the July abduction attempt occurred.
