CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Lawyers for a Charleston furniture store where nine firefighters died three years ago say they now have the documents they need about the investigation.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that attorneys for Sofa Super Store said they are no longer asking a judge to sanction the city of Charleston for failure to provide the documents from an expert panel that investigated the fire.
Lawyers were seeking 47,000 pages of documents that could be needed in lawsuits filed against the store and its owners by the firefighters' families.
An attorney for the city, Sandy Senn, says the city worked as quickly as possible to get the documents to the store's lawyers.
A study by the National institute of Standards and Technology on the fire is to be released Thursday.
