The Richland County Sheriff's Department says Curtis Simms was involved in a fight with 20-year-old Allen Gasque of Marion, a passenger from another vehicle.  Investigators say the fight started as a road rage incident.

Simms punched Gasque in the face knocking him to the ground.  The driver of the vehicle Simms was riding in unknowingly ran over Gasque with his truck while trying to pull to the side of the road.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Simms was originally arrested and charged with aggravated breach of peace.

Sheriff Leon Lott says Simms turned himself in and all parties involved have been cooperative.
