WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Candidates for South Carolina's lieutenant governor are to appear at a forum on aging issues sponsored by AARP.
South Carolina AARP state director Jane Wiley said Thursday that Democrat Ashley Cooper of Charleston and Republican Ken Ard of Pamplico have agreed to appear. The forum will be held Oct. 25 at the Brookland Baptist Church Conference Center in West Columbia.
Wiley says her nonprofit, nonpartisan organization is sponsoring the event because the state's No. 2 elected officer oversees the state Office on Aging.
The forum begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be open to the public.
