SUMMERVILLE (AP) -- A group of South Carolina residents from a predominantly black neighborhood plan a march to protest the flying of the Confederate flag at one home.
Residents of the Brownsville community in Summerville plan to march Saturday. About 270 people have signed a petition against the flag.
Annie Chambers Caddell has the flag on her porch and addressed town council Wednesday, fighting back tears and saying she is not a racist.
Caddell has flown the flag along with the American flag and has decorated her yard with Confederate insignia along with seasonal decorations.
Town officials say Caddell has a right to fly the flag and they won't force her to bring it down.
