GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) -- A Greenwood hospital is closing its behavioral unit after two psychiatrists decided to leave.

The Index-Journal of Greenwood reported that Self Regional Medical Center on Thursday announced the decision to close the 34-bed behavioral hospital unit at the end of the year.

Self Regional spokesman Dan Branyon says two of the three psychiatrists who make up the unit's staff are leaving soon. Branyon says the hospital has had trouble for the past six years attracting psychiatrists and keeping them.
