CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- You can see the forest without the fees in South Carolina for one weekend.
The National Forest Service says that in observance of National Public Lands Day on Saturday, the national forests are waiving daily fees at recreation sites and trails at the Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests.
Forest Supervisor Paul Bradley says National Public Lands Day offers a chance for folks to become familiar with what the forests offer.
The forests offer everything from backpacking and biking to boating, hunting, fishing and camping.
