MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina police investigating a shooting at a Myrtle Beach high school have charged a 14-year-old student with disturbing schools after finding unrelated threats on his Facebook page.

Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler on Thursday did not give specifics about the threats or identify the student, who was released to his parents.

Kegler says the threats were discovered as police investigated a shooting Tuesday at Socastee High School. Police said a freshman confronted an on-campus officer and fired a gun before being taken into custody. Students were evacuated, and bomb squads removed and disarmed explosive devices found on campus.

Kegler says the threats were made after the shooting and had no connection to it. The other student has been arrested.
