ENGLEWOOD, CO. (WACH, AP) - Funeral services for former Gamecock and current Denver Broncos wide receiver Kenny McKinley are scheduled for Monday in Austell, Ga., near his hometown of Mableton.
McKinley's father, Kenneth McKinley, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that services at the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral will be open to the public.
McKinley's son is believed to have killed himself Monday with a gunshot to the head at his home in Centennial, Colo.
An Arapahoe County sheriff's report released Tuesday says an investigator learned that McKinley had been depressed over a knee surgery he had a month ago.
The elder McKinley said his son told him he was ready to start his rehab, which was scheduled to begin Tuesday.
The NFL Players Association has set up a trust fund to help McKinley's son Keon.
