COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- The field is set for a special election to fill a vacant seat in the South Carolina House.

The State newspaper reported that public relations executive Mia Butler of Columbia won the Democratic primary Tuesday in a three-way contest for the House District 79 seat.

The 42-year-old Butler got 607 votes. Todd Wood finished second with 229 votes. Beverly Frierson finished third.

Butler will face Republican Sheri Few of Columbia in the Nov. 2 election.

The seat was vacated when Columbia Rep. Anton Gunn resigned to accept a position with the Obama administration.
