CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- A Clemson University student is charged with homicide by child abuse in the October 2009 death of his 16-month-old daughter.
The State Law Enforcement Division says 25-year-old Richard Brandon Lewis was arrested Friday on campus. He has also been charged with aiding and abetting homicide by child abuse in the months leading up to his daughter's death.
Audrina Hepburn died several days after she was admitted to a hospital for brain injuries. The girl's mother, Ashley Nicole Hepburn, is charged with murder.
It was not immediately clear if Lewis had an attorney. Jail officials said he would have a bond hearing Saturday morning.
Clemson officials say Lewis is a junior majoring in turf grass management.
