The city of Columbia is giving away an office building.
The location is 2126 Devine Street.
The site has been identified as a potential location for parking.
So instead of demolishing the building, city officials want to give it away.
City Council member Dr. Belinda Gergel said, “The cooperation among neighborhoods and businesses in developing the parking has been a key.” “As one example,” she said, “the willingness of BB&T to partner with the City in planning this project jointly with their own their own adjacent project shows their commitment to the Five Points community and to the city as a whole.”
The city will issue a request for proposals this week so that those interested in relocating the building can submit responses.
