COLUMBIA (WACH) -- One week after the Labor Day holiday, gas prices in Columbia have risen 1.7 cents.
The average cost per gallon in the Midlands sits at $2.41 according to ColumbiaGasPrices.com.
That's up 15 cents compared to last year at this time, but down 10 cents from one month ago.
Even with the jump at the pump, South Carolina remains the lowest in the nation when it comes to regular unleaded prices.
Nationally, the average is $2.72. The Palmetto State ranks just above New Jersey, Arkansas, Texas and Tennessee.
As for the lowest prices per city across the nation, Spartanburg, Greenville and Columbia are at the top.
