PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A food plant where a just-suspended employee allegedly shot and killed two people Thursday night in Philadelphia is closed until further notice.

A statement from Kraft Foods says counseling will be offered to employees.

Police say a woman who had been escorted from the plant returned with a handgun and opened fire. Two people were killed and a third critically injured. Officers say she also fired at them once they isolated her in a room.

The suspect has not been identified, and there's no immediate word why she was suspended.

The president of a threat assessment firm says mass shootings are rarely carried out by women. But he says that doesn't mean people should discount the violence potential of females.
