COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) -- Richland County is looking to educate voters on the proposed Transportation Penny Sales Tax.

That tax will appear on the ballot in November, and if approved would help fund buses, as well as road and greenway projects by raising more than a billion dollars over the next 25 years.

A series of educational sessions are scheduled for September; they are:

September 15, Harbison Recreation Center

September 16, RCSD Lower Richland Regional 1 Headquarters

September 22, Parklane Adult Activity Center

September 27, Richland County Public Library.

All sessions will run from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Richland County also has put information on the tax and the proposed projects it would fund on their website.
