COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Richland One officials are mooring the loss of one of their own Friday.

Madame Lilease W. Hall died Thursday morning at her home.

Hall was a French and English teacher at Booker T. Washington and Columbia high schools.

Those who knew her say she will be remembered for her 54 years of dedicated service to Richland One and the hundreds of students whose lives she touched.

"When I think of Madame Hall, I think of the word 'gentle,' she had such a gentle spirit," says Teacher Vanessa Torres.

"She just exuded joy and she exuded peace and compassion," adds Guidance Councilor Betty Hunter.  "She was a wonderful woman, gonna be truly missed."

"In almost 33 years, I've met some fantastic teachers, but she was probably the most dedicated woman I've ever seen," says Larry Kearse, Athletic Director.

Funeral arrangements for Hall are still being finalized.
