CHESTER, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina officials say a high school football player has died after collapsing on the field during a preseason game.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported that Chester County Chief Deputy Coroner Tommy Williams said 18-year-old Brian Colvin showed seizure-like symptoms when he collapsed on the sidelines Friday night. The teen died later at a local hospital.

Colvin was a running back for Lewisville who was playing against Westminster Catawba Christian School during the Chester County Football Jamboree.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior also ran track.
