SENECA (AP) -- A South Carolina nuclear power plant official says two employees could be fired for bringing a weapon to work.
The Anderson Independent Mail reports Tuesday that Oconee Nuclear Station security officers found the weapons on two employees over the past couple of weeks as they entered the plant. The discoveries are not believed to be related.
Nuclear station spokeswoman Sandra Magee says she didn't know what type of weapons were found.
Magee says Duke Energy officials are interviewing the workers who broke company rules. She says a report was sent to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
She declined to give details, calling it a security matter.
Duke Energy's Oconee Nuclear Station on Lake Keowee employs roughly 1,500 people.
