COLUMBIA (WACH)  -- A boil water advisory that impacted the Forest Acres area has been repealed by city of Columbia Water Works officials.

The advisory had been in effect for water customers from Sylvan Road to North Trenholm Road to Timle Lane, Reamer Road from Satchel Ford Road to North Trenholm Road, and Fernwood Road from Satchel Ford to Sylvan Road.  City of Columbia water customers in that area no longer need to boil their water prior to cooking or drinking.

Water officials say after an intense flushing of the distribution system, water smaples show the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking again.

If you have any questions concerning the repeal of the boil water advisory, call the city of Columbia Water Works at 733-8336 or 781-2181.
