COLUMBIA (AP) -- A judge says a man on federal death row for killing a South Carolina woman will not get a new trial.

U.S. District Judge Joseph F. Anderson Jr. on Tuesday denied the motion by 33-year-old Chadrick Fulks.

Anderson presided over a weeklong hearing in February to see if Fulks would get a new trial and sentence for the death of Alice Donovan.

Fulks pleaded guilty and co-defendant Brandon Basham was convicted of kidnapping and killing the 44-year-old mother during a rampage after they escaped from a Kentucky jail in 2002.

Both were sentenced to death. They also have pleaded guilty to killing 19-year-old Marshall University student Samantha Burns in West Virginia.

Attorney Beattie Ashmore represents Fulks and says he is still evaluating Anderson's order.
