COLUMBIA (WACH) -- What do Nikki Haley and Alvin Greene have in common?

Of all the candidates running for office in the U.S., this pair is getting the most national media attention.

According to the Pew Research Center, Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Greene has been number one with media outlets since winning the June 8 Primary.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley is in second place.

The two grabbed the top two spots despite the fact that there are several other key governor and senate seats up for grabs this November.

"The national political reporters are tuned to the fact that South Carolina politics is, if not unique, it is often something worth talking about," says Charles Bierbauer, Dean of the USC School of Journalism.

Bierbauer predicts as we get closer to the November Election, the media attention in this state will focus more on the governor's race than the senate race.
